Get a Dog
If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never say it’s not quite as good as his mother made it…
Then get a dog.
If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour, for as long and wherever you want .
Then get a dog.
If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn’t care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies
Then get a dog.
If you want someone who is content to get up on your bed just to warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores .
Then get a dog.
If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn’t care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually .
Then get a dog.
But, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness…
Then get a cat!
Creating Logo
On Saturday, I was quite “under the weather”. I woke up with a huge sinus headache and no sinus medication. By mid-morning, it was so bad that I was feeling ill. I called my husband, who was out running errands, and asked him to pick up some “mega” sinus medication then went back to bed. He got home about an hour or so later with the medication.
Once I felt better, I got up and didn’t do much of anything else the remainder of the day – I felt drained.
My idea of “sitting around” is not the same as most peoples. I can never just sit around doing nothing so I had my laptop and was doing some website maintenance and research. While “surfing”, I came across a site that has paid contests for logos and website templates so I gave it a try. By yesterday evening, I had submitted 2 website templates and at least 15 logos that I created, to various contests.
Here’s hoping some of my efforts “pay” off. If not, at least I learned alot while doing these and had fun!
Ready to retire
I’m so ready to retire from my out of the home job. This past year has been extremely difficult (personally) and I am finding I do best when I work from home. For this reason, I am making every attempt to make it possible for me to do this.
I can’t believe how difficult it is to find part-time work from home work. I have alot of experience and knowledge with the internet – research, web design, web content, software testing, web programming, SEO, forums, blogging, etc…yet it is hard to find work. I don’t want full-time as I have my business to think of too, just enough part-time telecomuting work to supplement my pension income and whatever income I generate from our business.
I haven’t given up…it’s just going to be more difficult that I thought.

Major Dennis and Nubs Reunited
I have been following the wonderful story of Nubs, the Iraqi dog that was saved by Maj Dennis and then sent to California to live. Nubs arrived “home” in Feb and now Maj Dennis has also come home. A very happy ending for both. Hooray!
| Major Brian Dennis has returned from Iraq and was reunited with Nubs the dog. * Homecoming *
Nubs is the Iraqi dog that walked 70 miles to find the Marine who had befriended him. Dennis is looking forward to taking Nubs to the San Diego beaches and teaching him that playing in the surf is fun. Coming from a desert, Nubs wasn’t too sure about the ocean on his first trip to the beach with his foster parents. Nubs has been doing well while waiting for Maj. Dennis to return. He’s put on some weight, his coat has gotten smooth and shiny, and he’s been learning what it means to be cared for. We’re very glad Nubs and Brian Dennis have made it home safely.” |
My sentiments exactly.
Bathing your Dog
I just published a good article on how to bathe your dog. With spring coming up, the timing is appropriate.
The article gives good instructions on the best way to bathe your dog, and do’s and dont’s.
I know that we’ll be bathing all 5 of our dogs at some point in the next few weeks and that’ll mean that all the dog beds, blankets and dog toys get washed at the same time so that everything is clean and smelling good.
Bath-day is a full-day job!

Break the Chain
I came across this excellent post while browsing this morning. I couldn’t agree more with the article.
“Can you believe some people still tether their dogs? If you’re like me you don’t have to suspend disbelief. The evidence is incontrovertible–you can see it as you pass through neighbrhoods with small yards and incomplete fencing.” Read More…..
Greyt New Designs
Back to Work
I have been diligently working on catching up with our Greyt Inspirations orders. The custom collar orders and embroidery orders will be completed this weekend; since it is a long weekend, I should be able to get caught up.
I have also been adding the new designs to the website as I am able. There are some gorgeous new designs that can be found on the following web pages:
or you can search through the Miscellaneous Collars, the Embroidered Collars and the Leashes pages.
More to come over the next few days…

We’re Back
We got back from our vacation in Georgia and Florida today. We had a fabulous time with friends in the warmth and sunshine and is kind of depressing to come home to cold and snow. At least we know that spring is coming very soon…
We brought our Rowdy (another greyhound) home with us this trip. He is doing great! He fits right into our family without any incidents and handled the long trip home extremely well.
Rowdy is one of our pre-adopted greyhounds. We adopted him soon after he was born, watched him grow up via pictures and videos from our friends, and saw him once a year. He is 2 1/2 years old now and finished his racing career so came home with us this trip. He is a gorgeous white ticked with a brown brindle on his face and ears. He is extremely gentle and very sweet.
We are happy to be home and I am looking forward to a good nights sleep in my own bed for the first time in 2-weeks.
