Greyt Inspirations Life

A little about our life, our business and our pets.

Tomorrow will be a big day for us

Tomorrow morning our oldest son joins the military (Air Force). He actually starts on January 21st but tomorrow he goes and signs all the paperwork,  gets all his instructions and arrangements done.

He will be 3 months in Basic Training then onto training in the field he has chosen – ATIS (Aerospace Telecommunication & Information Systems Technician).

I’m a little nervous for him as he is not a really physical guy (more of a “geek”) and I hope he will be able to keep up with the physical stuff and pass. He’s excited to be able to start a new career, one that will be much more stable than what he has experienced in the past.

I’m sure he will do fine but this is just very different than what he or we ever envisioned for him. Once he gets past basic training, he will excel as he is extremely smart and very “technically” minded. He has chosen a trade that I am sure he will love.

This is a BIG step in life for our oldest!

  1. Good luck. And he’ll be fine. The Air Force training isn’t as strenuous as the Army or Marines (so I’m told from my Navy boyfriend, who says Navy training isn’t bad either).

  2. Even though you are a little apprehensive, I am sure that you are really proud of your son. When my youngest son was 18 he joined the Navy. I know what you are going through. Hang in there, he will be alright.
